SHK+E ESSEN offers a strong platform for education, drinking water, and start-ups

It is the first industry highlight of the coming year: From March 17 to 20, 2026, SHK+E ESSEN will bring professionals from the trades, installation, and planning sectors to Messe Essen. In addition to its regular range of products and services relating to sanitation, heating, air conditioning, and electrics, the trade fair offers attractive special areas where exhibitors can present themselves with minimal effort. These include the SHK Education, Learning + IT Campus, the Drinking Water Meeting Point, and a separate area for start-ups. Registration is now open at www.shke-essen.de.

Many visitors use SHK+E ESSEN to find out about continuing education and training opportunities for themselves and their employees. Educational institutions and providers of learning programs, software, and hardware will find the ideal platform to showcase their products and services at Campus SHK Education, Learning + IT in Hall 2. Exhibitors such as universities, academies, and chambers of trade will benefit from a thematically coherent environment right next to the Trainee Lounge, the Content Lab, and the stand of the SHK NRW trade association.

Clear solutions for clear water

Another focus of the upcoming SHK+E ESSEN will be the safe supply of hygienically safe drinking water. The background to this is EU Directive 2020/2184, which sets out clear requirements for materials and products that come into contact with drinking water. Together with figawa, SHK+E ESSEN is offering interested exhibitors the Drinking Water Meeting Point in Hall 6 to present solutions for water hygiene and resource efficiency to trade visitors. This also includes a forum with presentations.

Start-ups take off on their own premises

Young companies will also find the perfect setting for their products and business ideas at Messe Essen. The focus here is on solutions for smart buildings, efficient energy management, and digital services. In the Startup@SHK+E ESSEN area in Hall 1, the innovators of tomorrow can network and make valuable contacts. The VdZ – Wirtschaftsvereinigung Gebäude und Energie (German Building and Energy Association) is a strong partner for this area.

Achieve great attention with little effort

"With the special areas, we are creating an attractive opportunity for exhibitors to participate in SHK+E ESSEN with minimal effort. Our complete packages with stand construction and equipment make participation easy. This is possible either on its own or in addition to your own stand. This allows exhibitors to concentrate fully on their trade fair appearance. We deliberately focus on clearly defined topics that are important building blocks for the future of the industry," explains Torben Brinkmann, project manager of SHK+E ESSEN. All exhibitors in the special areas Campus SHK Education, Learning + IT, Meeting Point Drinking Water, and Startup@SHK+E ESSEN will receive their own presentation area with technical equipment. In addition, they can participate in the respective lecture program.
