Duravit No.1

Duravit No.1

Duravit No.1: The complete bathroom range on a budget

Living design that is ideal for any bathroom

The complete bathroom series Duravit No.1 impresses with its minimalistic and contemporary yet timeless looks, a compact, clear and comprehensive product range, and excellent value for money in the entry-level segment.

Whether in your very first bathroom, in a rental apartment, in a hotel bathroom, or generally in the project segment: all products stemming from Duravit’s new inhouse design enhance the quality of daily life. Concentrating on what really matters, Duravit No.1 opens up a whole host of combination options, creating the perfect foundation for a range of bathroom plans and requirements.

Washbasins that simplify planning

The rectangular shape of the washbasins and the narrow design of the side edge produce a large inner basin – with a generous, comfortable tap panel – that exudes elegant serenity. Bathroom concepts in the budget price range are usually dominated by round shapes. With the new series, Duravit presents an unusual alternative in planning-friendly dimensions. Washbasins, as well as handrinse basins can optionally be combined with pedestals, semi-pedestals, or vanity units. In addition furniture and built-in washbasins are available.

Practical furniture

The minimal overhang from the washbasin to the bathroom furniture underlines the clarity and modernity of the Duravit No.1 design, as does the recessed grip, which is “seamlessly” integrated into the décor fronts and is pleasant to the touch. Available in White Matt or Graphite Matt, the furniture has been designed to enable easy retrofitting at a later stage. Vanity units with a hinged door are available for the handrinse basins (450 and 500 mm), and furniture with a pull-out compartment and on request with an additional, practical internal drawer can be selected for the washbasins (550, 600, 650 and 800 mm). A semi-tall cabinet affords generous storage options. Matching mirrors and mirrored cabinets impress with long-lasting and energy-saving LED lighting and clever details. All furniture is supplied pre-assembled and fully adjusted, enabling quick and convenient final installation with minimal effort.

With the Ketho.2 furniture program by Duravit, designer Christian Werner has retained the unmistakable aesthetic of the preceding series with a revamped shape and more contemporary twist. The continuous strip handles in Anthracite are integrated into the front and bring the horizontal lines to the fore, emphasizing the perfect proportions of the overall image. A wide choice of sizes, finishes, and combinable ceramic ranges make Ketho.2 an all-rounder for any planning process – one reason why the preceding series was already very popular with so many people. Thanks to its robustness, extremely high quality and functionality, the timelessness of the form along with the use of a sustainable PEFC-certified substrat for the fronts and carcass, this furniture range is ideal for everyday use and available at a very attractive price.

Timeless design for any furnishing style

The timeless design of Ketho.2 suits any bathroom and fulfils all requirements. The elegant, rectangular basic forms are characteristic for Ketho.2. They are lent particular clarity by the precise, flush-fitting, 16mm carcass sides. Christian Werner describes Ketho.2 as “poetry of geometry, with beautiful proportions and eye-catching, continuous strip handles in Anthracite aluminum. The pared-down, elegant style will bring joy for a long time and won’t look ‘dated’ in the next fashion wave, or even the one after that!”

The faucets are highly adaptable, and slot perfectly into a varied range of bathroom interiors and harmonize with many different ceramic series.

Positioned in the mid-price range, the faucet series makes a strong design statement – and is guaranteed by Duravit for five years.

Iconic and timeless design

For Philippe Starck, timelessness means the longevity of objects which is today one of the most important parameters: on a material, cultural and emotional level. He implements this idea in the design of Tulum through a successful symbiosis of minimalism and elegance. The slim, rectangular geometries of the spout and handle emerge from the conical body in an exact parallel. The combination of round and angular elements means that the faucets can be matched with organically shaped or angular sanitary objects. The flat, exquisitely worked spout is exactly the same width as the long, elegant, lever-style handle. It imbues the faucet with its elegant look and guarantees that water volume and temperature can be set easily and precisely. Available in two finishes - Chrome and Matt Black – Tulum harmonizes perfectly with the Starck T accessories series, itself designed by Philippe Starck.

Washbasins with gentle contours –

perfect for everyday use

When it comes to the washbasins, the form of the basin is reminiscent of dunes shaped by the wind. The gentle contours and fluid transitions create a subtle sense of space while also being easy to clean. The balanced proportions of the basin size, tap platform, and storage areas make the Soleil by Starck washbasins perfect everyday companions. The delicate external edge, which serves as overflow protection, also plays a part here. The range includes three sizes of washbasin with a matching semi-pedestal along with furniture washbasins, above-counter basins and built-in undercounter washbasins. A handrinse basin for guest toilets and small rooms completes the program. Duravit has additionally developed matching combination options for Soleil by Starck in the form of bathroom furniture in various price segments – for a more relaxed look with D-Neo or as a more elegant option with XSquare.

Zencha

Zencha

Zencha by Sebastian Herkner: A homage to mindfulness and traditional craftsmanship

Perfectly balanced bathroom design that flatters the senses with tactile surfaces

·        Inspired by Japanese rituals and craftsmanship

·                                Organically shaped sanitary objects

Minimalistic, modular storage furniture
Selected finishes from wood to textured glass
High-quality materials such as DuraCeram® and DuraSolid® for optimum look and feel
Bathtubs with a pool-like feeling

The outstanding design of the Zencha bathroom collection by Sebastian Herkner was inspired by traditional Japanese rituals and craftsmanship and combines unusual above-counter basins with minimalistic furniture. The most striking feature of the basins and bathtub is the rounded shape that opens into a graceful, outward-curving edge. The dual-walled sanitary objects made from DuraCeram® and DuraSolid® are paired with modular, geometric bathroom furniture with an elegant frame. The furniture is made from materials such as wood and textured glass and not only offers plenty of storage space, but is also extremely pleasant to the touch. “I’ve always wanted to develop a bathroom series for Duravit,” said the designer from Offenbach. He can now take his place in the roll-call of renowned designers such as Philippe Starck and Cecilie Manz who have designed collections for the German manufacturer.

Company profile

Tradition and the region behind the Duravit
The tradition of the Duravit brand
Even a company that has set great precedents with its centuries of tradition once “started small”.

It all began in Hornberg, Germany in 1817 when Georg Friedrich Horn built an earthenware factory initially focused solely on the manufacture of crockery. In 1956, production evolved from earthenware to porcelain, extending the product range to include sanitary ceramics. This provided a platform for future success and also introduced the sanitary world to a new name: Duravit. Today, Duravit AG operates at an international level and boasts 11 production plants with a workforce of more than 7,000 employees worldwide.

The region behind the Duravit brand
One source of Duravit’s tremendous strength, which it continues to cultivate, is its deep connection to the Black Forest. This is why Duravit is, for example, a partner and sponsor of the Black Forest natural park, a large nature reserve that is also Germany’s largest natural park. Additionally, Duravit does everything possible to protect natural elements like water, air and soil – a process that starts with resource-saving manufacturing methods, which employ technologies such as water treatment and heat recovery. The logical continuation of this is manifested in the products themselves, which are water-saving.

Even with new products, Duravit takes into impact on the environment and ensures that, whatever it manufactures, it uses natural resources responsibly.

And these efforts have certainly been recognized: Duravit AG has officially been certified for its commitment to the environment in accordance with ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and PEFC.
